Join five enthusiastic students in their high-tech "Social Studies Lab" to learn about the five themes of geography: Location, Place, Human-Environment Interactions, Movement, and Regions. Visit locations around the world to understand how geographers study the earth and the people who live here.

Students discover that the United States of America is where we live. They learn about our country's flag and anthem, and they tour our nation's capital, Washington, D.C. They also learn that America is divided into 50 states and that each state has its own capital and is represented by a flag, bird, and flower.

The symbols of our country help us honor our heritage and think of the U.S. as a country of hope, freedom, and friendship. Learn about the history of our country's symbols and what they mean to Americans. Includes the Statue of Liberty, the Liberty Bell, the Bald Eagle, the American Flag, and the Pledge of Allegiance.

Acceptance of Hawaii as our fiftieth state. Includes a look at the formation of the first 13 colonies, the French and Indian War, The Revolutionary War, The Louisiana Purchase, Florida and the Seminole Indians, The Westward Movement, The Mexican-American War, The California Gold Rush, Manifest Destiny, Oregon Territory, Alaska Purchase, and Hawaii.

Discover why thousands of Americans left their homes in the East to endure months of hardship to settle in the West. Describes life on a wagon train. Learn about the special challenges of the trip, as well as the day-to-day routine, via re-enactments of the entire trip between Missouri and the West Coast.

This compelling program reveals how the interests of the industrial North and the agricultural South (the Cotton Belt) came to clash over critical issues such as plantation slavery, and how these issues eventually led to the secession of the southern states.

Students blast back in time to the original Plymouth Plantation of 1620, the first colonial settlement in southern New England. Follow along as they learn about daily life and culture, the roles of Pilgrim men and women, the voyage of the Mayflower, and the importance of the Mayflower Compact.

While George Washington was leading the Continental Army against the British, Thomas Jefferson was writing a document that would be used to declare America's separation from England - The Declaration of Independence. Students identify some of the people who fought for the rights of Americans. Once free, the planning of a new government began with the writing of our Constitution.

What were the key events that brought a divided people together to stand and fight as one? In this engaging production your students will learn about The French and Indian War, Stamp Act, Intolerable Acts, Boston Massacre, Boston Tea Party, and battles at Lexington and Concord.

This program is designed to give students a clear understanding of the historical events of various land acquisitions that led to the creation of the United States as it exists today. Archival footage combined with lively maps and graphics help tell the story of how the United States grew from 13 colonies to 50 states.

Students take an educational and entertaining journey back to Colonial America to learn what life was like in the original Thirteen Colonies. Shot at historic restoration in York, ME; Philipsburg Manor, NY; Philadelphia; and Colonial Williamsburg, program interviews "Colonists" at each site so viewers can explore the similarities and differences of lifestyles.

How our country's founders forged the framework of our government comes to life in this engaging program. Students will learn about James Madison and Alexander Hamilton and their key roles in the creation of the Constitution.

This disc features "Living in Medieval Europe," an approximately 20-minute video program featuring age-appropriate content that explores the Middle Ages.
