Students take an educational and entertaining journey back to Colonial America to learn what life was like in the original Thirteen Colonies. Shot at historic restoration in York, ME; Philipsburg Manor, NY; Philadelphia; and Colonial Williamsburg, program interviews "Colonists" at each site so viewers can explore the similarities and differences of lifestyles. Helps students compare the colonists' lives to their own. Interviews with a "Colonial" schoolmaster and jailer's wife uncover interesting facts about educational practices, schools, government, crime and punishment in Colonial America. Explores the different types of industry found in the different colonies, and how those industries helped to define the lifestyle of the people in the area.
