Science standard 3-PS2-1: Plan and conduct an investigation to provide evidence of the effects of balanced and unbalanced forces on the motion of an object. This kit is designed for whole group instruction with Kindergarten through 2nd grade classes. Students will measure the speed of two different vehicles as they travel down a track. Students will then compare and synthesize the results.

The lesson was written to address the Next Gen. Science standard K-2-ETS1-3: Analyze data from tests of two objects designed to solve the same problem to compare the strengths and weaknesses of how each performs. The accompanying lesson plan can be found later in this catalog record.
