The fair distribution of water has long been a worldwide problem, and it is one that the United States may increasingly experience in the future. The Great Lakes contain 20% of the world’s fresh surface water, but that water is currently available to only a small portion of the U.S population.

This program defines community in a global context that includes all countries of the world as well as city and country populations. Stresses that diversity is the fundamental strength of all communities. Gives examples of the services, population, occupations, businesses, and methods of transportation that are available in urban, rural, and suburban communities.
