Description

This kit is designed for use as a group project with a Pre-K or Kindergarten Class. This was designed to address the Next Gen. Science standards P-LS1-1: Observe familiar plants and animals (including humans) and describe what they need to survive, and K-ESS3-1: Use a model to represent the relationship between the needs of different plants and animals (including humans) and the places they live. The lesson plan can be found later in the record.

The kit includes the following materials:

  • 1 Makey Makey Circuit Board
  • 1 USB Wire
  • 7 20” Alligator Clip Wires
  • 6 6’ Alligator Clip Wires
  • 10-pack PlayDough
  • 1 package of 100 pipe cleaners

*The model duck in the photo above is only an example of what students could make, and is not included in the actual kit.

We have provided as much as possible to make the project successful. You will supplement with other maker materials such as cardboard, brass fasteners, paperclips, and other necessary items.

This kit was paid for through a grant from the Harold Hacker Fund for the Advancement of Libraries, sponsored by the Friends and Foundation of the Rochester Public Library and the Rochester Regional Library Council (RRLC).
