Description

This kit is designed for use as a center activity with a Pre-K or Kindergarten class. This was designed to address the NY Common Core Math standards PK.G: Identify and describe shapes (squares, circles, triangles, rectangles), and K.G: Identify and describe shapes (squares, circles, triangles, rectangles, hexagons, cubes, cones, cylinders, and spheres). The accompanying lesson plan can be found later in the record.

The kit includes the following materials:

  • 2 Makey Makey Circuit Boards
  • 2 USB Wires
  • 14 20” Alligator Clip Wires
  • 10-pack PlayDough
  • 1 package of 100 pipe cleaners
  • 1 package of aluminum foil

We have provided as much as possible to make the project successful. You may supplement with other maker materials such as cardboard, brass fasteners, paperclips, and other items.

This kit was paid for through a grant from the Harold Hacker Fund for the Advancement of Libraries, sponsored by the Friends and Foundation of the Rochester Public Library and the Rochester Regional Library Council (RRLC).
