Little Rock Central: 50 Years Later

In 1957, Little Rock Central High School became a symbol of the Civil Rights Movement when, in defiance of federal orders to integrate the school, the Governor of Arkansas called out the National Guard to prevent nine African-American students from entering the building. Little Rock natives Brent and Craig Renaud turned their lens on the school as the nation prepared for the fiftieth anniversary of the famous Integration Crisis. This intimate, eye-opening film spends time in and out of the classroom, with present-day Central High students, faculty, community leaders and one of the original "Little Rock Nine." It candidly reveals how far we've come since those nine students courageously crossed the school's steps nearly half a century ago... and how far we need to go.
