To understand Spain, one must understand the spectacle of the bullfight -- la fiesta brava. Explore the history of bullfighting, as actual bullfighting footage is used to explain each step of the ritual.
1) Students will learn about the history of bullfighting.
2) Students will understand the relevance of bullfighting as a cultural phenomenon.

The Holocaust and the United Nations Outreach Programme, in partnership with the USC Shoah Foundation Institute for Visual History and Education and Yad Vashem. The Holcaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Authority, has produced this study guide and DVD for high school students to better understand the ways in which the Holocaust affected women.

This educational video was created for the Footprints of Hope project, a new initiative from the Holocaust and the United Nations Outreach Programme designed to involve students aged 13 years and older in the study of the Holocaust. This film is accompanied by a lesson plan and PowerPoint presentation titled “Ordinary Things? Discovering the Holocaust through Historical Artefacts”.

This collection consists of twenty-six films of San Francisco from before and after the Great Earthquake and Fire, 1897-1916. Seventeen of the films depict San Francisco and its environs before the 1906 disaster. Seven films describe the great earthquake and fire.

The Graduates explores pressing issues in education today through the eyes of six young Latino and Latina students from across the United States. More than a survey of contemporary policy debates, viewers gain a first-hand perspective on the different challenges facing Latino high school students and their families, educators and community leaders.

History Ignored is History Repeated

On May 17, 1954, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in the case of Brown vs. Board of Education that the concept of "separate but equal" school segregation was unconstitutional. But in this landmark ruling, the Justices used a four-word phrase that many believe has delayed the process of change for over 50 years: "With All Deliberate Speed."
